I like pumpkins

Category: Let's talk

Post 1 by Milo Theory (Zone BBS Addict) on Tuesday, 22-Jan-2008 10:40:45

Allright. This topic is dedicated to: Yeah, you guessed it! It's dedicated to Pumpkins!

Did you guys know that pumpkins can weigh anything from 9-18 lbs (4-8 kg) with the largest capable of reaching over 75 lbs (34 kg)?

Pumpkins are capable of growing extremely large with the proper attention and care. The world record pumpkin weighs 1689 lbs. This pumpkin was cared for by Joe Jutras in Topsfield, Massachusetts. I have to make a note to visit this dedicated pumpkin brother.

In Korea and Japan, the word translating to "pumpkin" is a slang term for an unattractive woman. In the
American South
and Midwest, however, the term "pumpkin" is sometimes used as an endearment.

So, you can eat pumpkins, you can use the word to insult or show your affection for someone; hell, you can even participate in activities involving pumpkins. Halloween and Pumpkin chucking comes to mind immediately.

Half Moon Bay, California , holds the annual Pumpkin and Arts Festival, drawing over 250,000 visitors each year and including the World Champion Pumpkin Weigh-Off.

Oh, and then last but, not least, Morton, Illinois is the self declaired pumpkin capital of the world.

So, you all see: Pumpkins are ausumn. I will not change my mind.

I like pumpkins!

Post 26 by Eleni21 (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Wednesday, 23-Jan-2008 14:47:57

You guys are crazy! lol But totally wonderful! And you made me hungry! Mmmmm! Pumpkin spiced tea, pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread! I've always wanted to try other pumpkin-flavoured stuff. Know how they're always drinking that juice in the Hary Potter books? Is that a real thing? Has anyone here ever had it? I actually have a funny story. My boyfriend, as most of you know, comes from Greece. He's been here for about seven years, but he's still learning English. One day, we were on the phone and when I asked him what he was making for dinner, he said potatoes and pumpkin. He said he loves pumpkin boiled with vinegar. something didn't sound right to me. so when I went to see him, I asked him to show me one. Turns out he meant squash. He was in a store and they had a big sign that said "pumpkins" and right underneath it, they had the squash. We both had a laugh.

Post 27 by CSection (Out standing in my field.) on Wednesday, 23-Jan-2008 15:59:42

But hanif, I know a particularly juicy pumpkin you could cuddle! lol.

Post 28 by purple penguin (Don't you hate it when someone answers their own questions? I do.) on Wednesday, 23-Jan-2008 16:50:09

You pumpkin heads are crazy.

Post 29 by CSection (Out standing in my field.) on Wednesday, 23-Jan-2008 18:13:51

No, tis you non believers who are crazy. You'll go to pumpkin hell, you know! lol.

Post 30 by Eleni21 (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Wednesday, 23-Jan-2008 21:44:38

As a Polytheist, I can't help but wonder which god or goddess rules over pumpkins... lol or, since the pumpkin has become a god now, who made it so? rofl

Post 31 by CSection (Out standing in my field.) on Wednesday, 23-Jan-2008 22:45:10

It is the power of the people that made it so, and all pumpkins are equal in there almightyness! Is almightyness a word? lol.

Post 32 by Milo Theory (Zone BBS Addict) on Thursday, 24-Jan-2008 10:12:38

Cam, there's only one pumpkin that I'll cuddle. Believe me when I say that I do not want the coutch.

Post 33 by CSection (Out standing in my field.) on Thursday, 24-Jan-2008 11:10:47

Post 35 by Milo Theory (Zone BBS Addict) on Thursday, 24-Jan-2008 12:17:15

Post 36 by Albanac (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Thursday, 24-Jan-2008 12:18:30

Bonkers. Completely and utterly bonkers. I've yet to try anything pumkinish, however. Perhaps I'll post here when I do. Hail! the pumkin!

Post 37 by kiayaj! (You're favorite rebel!) on Thursday, 24-Jan-2008 19:20:14

hey hey hey, babe, talking like that will definitely earn you an honored place on the couch! lol
and yes, if you don't believe in pumkins, I shall send you all to pumkin hell! because, afterall, I am the goddess of pumkinism! so all you pumkinists, bow down to me when I come by! and, and, and, if my pumkin prince goes and cuddles a certain English Pumkin, then he will definitely feel the heat of my wrath! lol

Post 38 by Glenja (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Thursday, 24-Jan-2008 19:34:30

I hate to burst your bubble, but you are all late to this pumpkin-love in. Everyone seems to have forgotten the king of pumpkins. It’s Linus of course, after all, it was he who first uttered those immortal words, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charley Brown!”

Post 39 by Milo Theory (Zone BBS Addict) on Friday, 25-Jan-2008 0:48:57

Hmm, the heat of your wrath? Sounds interesting. lmao

Post 43 by Emerald-Hourglass (Account disabled) on Friday, 25-Jan-2008 21:08:10

lmao kia!

Post 44 by Milo Theory (Zone BBS Addict) on Tuesday, 29-Jan-2008 11:30:33

should I start another topic with a slightly different naming convention? I see that their's alot of similar topics on the boards these days.

Example: instead of I like pumpkins, I'll just start a new topic: I like pumpkins alot.

Don't the people at least view some of the posts on the current page just to see if their topic has been covered yet?

Post 45 by Blondie McConfusion (Blah Blah Blah) on Tuesday, 29-Jan-2008 14:02:07

i'm waiting for the a to z of pumpkins....
english pumpkin? hmmm.. hehehe

Post 46 by Milo Theory (Zone BBS Addict) on Tuesday, 29-Jan-2008 14:13:27

Post 47 by CSection (Out standing in my field.) on Wednesday, 30-Jan-2008 11:14:28

Pipi, English pumpkin is well worth checking out lol.
Pumpkin bro, don't blaspheme, of course your not. How about "british pumpkin or sexy asian girl?" Then people could help you in your difficult decision. lol.

Post 48 by Shadow_Cat (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Wednesday, 30-Jan-2008 14:05:00

Wow, this thread certainly gets me laughing. You guys are nuts, but it's great. I've always love pumpkin bread and pumpkin bars. I like the shape and texture of whole pumpkins. However, I can't stand the feel of the pulp inside. Ugh. But have any of you guys ever baked, or had baked pumpkin seeds? We used to do that at Halloween time. Cam, pumpkin chi tea is really good. There was also a pumpkin flavored ale I tried at a friend's Haloween party a few months ago that was pretty good. Too bad I couldn't drink more of it, but not with the meds I'm on! Otherwise I would have.

And Tiffanitsa, I think there is a type of squash called a pumpkin squash? that could be what the sign in the grocery store meant.

Post 49 by kiayaj! (You're favorite rebel!) on Wednesday, 30-Jan-2008 15:02:43

hahahaha, yeah, lol cam, how about sexy asian girl pumkin! lol, and only one person is allowed to try it! lol hahahaha
